What kind of vegetables are safe for my dog?
I have a 2 year old pitbull/lab mix who loves veggies. I know I've read somewhere that not all vegetables are safe for dogs so I've just been occasionally giving him green beans with his food. What else can i give him as a special treat?

- Blunt ones
- they love raw green beans ask your vet and he will give you a list
- Coffee beans
- carrots (raw) are excellent.
- veggies should be okay, you want to stay away from chicken, turkey, and raisins though
- Carrots. My dog loves them.
- Carrots.
- my dog loves carrots
- I know carrots are, and so are peas
- Lots of dogs LOVE carrots. Green beans are good and so are peas.
- I think all veggies are safe for dogs but I know they prefer stuff like green beans, peas stuff like that for some reason they like the green stuff.
- peas and carrots thats it nothing else
- all veg is safe my dog gets a sunday dinner every week he loves it
- carrots raw. i no its not a vegie but if someone says grape, dont give it to ur dog it will get them really sick like chocolate.
- Pattao salad Furits too
- all of them, they are dogs. they can eat raw meat out of trash cans. they arent humans....
- not mushrooms and peppers ithink they make them sick but im not sure
- we read you can give the dog califlower, carrorts (which are a great sub for a chew toy) green beans, I do know every animal is different so I would google your question exactly. Becareful not to introduce to many new foods at once so that way if he has a bad reaction you know what to not give him. (becarefull cause certain foods will have your dog ripping farts, my dog smells sometimes LOL)GL Almost forgot NO TOMATOES, acid and spice are bad for all animals.
- most anything that your dog can chew should be fine nothing too hard and i know for a fact that onions and garlic are bad for them most all veggies are okay for dogs though
- Carrots, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes....just about all vegetables are good for dogs but not onions whatever you do no onions!!!! On another note keep the people food to a minimum dogs need to eat dry dog food or there breath starts stinking
- i dont know but the bad foods are onions, grapes, nuts
- my dogs eat broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, peas, green beans, salad, and corn. Warning....brocolli and cauliflower gives my dogs BAD gas.
- put leaf vegggies in a separate dish so they can choose. do not feed them things like rice, potatoes, wheat mixed in their primary meat source. dogs evolved to eat just like wolves. they are fundamentally predators. wolves sometimes eat green grass but never the things they put in "scientific" dog chows. use your commons sense, for goodness sakes. cats are predators and are the same way. they must live by their instincts, not your notions about them. they have different systems than humans or hogs.
- most any veggies except onions and garlic and too many tomatoes. Here is a list of some foods that can be toxic to dogs and a link with more info. Chocolate and Caffeine Grapes/Raisins Macadamia Nuts Mushroom Onion and Garlic http://www.peteducation.com/category_summary.cfm?cls=2&cat=1939
- My dogs love green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots.
- Any vegetables that humans eat should be fine for your dog. Preferably fresh fruits and veggies.
- Peas, carrots, green and wax beans and peas. I would avoid corn because too much of that can make him gain weight.
- Almost all vegetables humans eat are good for our dogs. The only exceptions are too much onions, and garlic. They are said to be dangerous to dogs. Grapes and raisins have something toxic that can kill a dog when given in large quantities. Chocolate is the biggest poison for dogs. 8 oz. can kill a small dog. Keep your dog away from poinsettia and other poisonous plants. Our Miniature schnauzer loves fruits and veggies too. Keep giving veggies like carrots, beans, etc. Try bananas, oranges and apples--they love it too.
- carrots, beans, corn umm here is a website that tells you what not to feed your dog
- my guy lovvvvves baby carrots, kale, canteloupe, apple slices, frozen green beans and mango. Check the ASPCA website for a nice list of foods that are not safe for your dog. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pro_apcc_poisonsafe
- the only foods that i know of that you can't feed to dogs are chocolate, grapes, gum, and hard things. but this is a question to ask your vet. he/she will have a good answer.
- carrot! my dog loves em!
