What vegetables come out best in a food steamer?
I just got a new food steamer and I'm so excited. I just don't know what comes out best in it though, so I need to get some stuff. I like these vegetables: broccoli, carrots, peas, lima beans, potatoes, corn, green beans. I don't really like but can eat these vegetables: brussel sprouts, sweet peppers, celery, zucchini, squash. So let me know which veggies taste best in food steamers, and any tips for cooking them (like herbs or oils or other toppings). Oh yeah, what kind of potatoes are good for steaming? I'd like the healthiest kind, are those small red potatoes good for you cuz I like them. Any other vegetables that I didn't list, feel free to add if they come out good, I'm open to trying new things.

- I love my steamer as well, so congrats on getting one! I love steamed carrots, they're soo delicious!! I can't get enough of them because they're so moist and warm, with all this flavor, put on a little butter and they're to die for! I also have this vegetable mix that I buy which has broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower and it taste really good steamed as well. Red potatoes are good for you, I love them better then regular large brown potatoes.

- My friend steams nearly everything. But for me, root veggies steam best. Leafy greens, better to stir fry.
- For lunch I had steamed artichokes...yum! I put a clove of chopped garlic and a bay leaf in the water.
